Vuthaj \u2013 Zastan \u2013 Buni Jezerces \u2013 Vuthaj<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Een van de meest dramatische delen van de Peaks of the Balkans Trail, waar deze lange en lonende wandeling vandaan komt Montenegro<\/a> Albani\u00eb binnen via het wilde hart van de Vervloekte Bergen. Omringd door torenhoge kalksteentoppen en een ongerept berglandschap, biedt het een onvergetelijke bergervaring. De reis begint in het dorp Vusanje<\/a>, in westelijke richting naar de indrukwekkende Ropojane-vallei. Het pad volgt ongeveer 4,5 km een \u200b\u200bbospad door de brede vallei voordat het een kruispunt bereikt waar de route linksaf buigt richting Buni i Jezerces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Een gestage klim langs een 4WD-parcours leidt naar Katun Zastan (Zastan Karaula), waar nog steeds de overblijfselen staan van een voormalige Joegoslavische militaire kazerne \u2013 stille getuigen van de ooit zwaarbewaakte grens tussen Albani\u00eb en Joegoslavi\u00eb. Vanaf Zastan Karaula klimt het gemarkeerde pad in zuidwestelijke richting door dicht beukenbos.
Na ongeveer 2,2 km komt de route boven de boomgrens uit, slechts een paar honderd meter voor de grens tussen Montenegro en Albani\u00eb. Plots verschijnen de prachtige Buni i Jezerces-meren onder de torenhoge kliffen van het Jezerca-massief: een adembenemend bergpanorama. Deze ongerepte gletsjermeren worden gevoed door ondergrondse bronnen die zijn gevormd door smeltende sneeuw die langs de omliggende kalksteentoppen naar beneden stroomt. Tijdens het smeltseizoen van de sneeuw kunnen er wel vier meren zichtbaar zijn, hoewel sommige geleidelijk uitdrogen onder de zomerzon.
Dit afgelegen bergbekken is een favoriete plek voor wildkamperen en biedt kristalhelder water
wateren, sterrenhemels en volledige rust in een van de meest spectaculaire berglandschappen van de Balkan.
